The Proposal
Tom and Lauren frequently organised date nights for each other, so nothing was out of the ordinary when Tom organised a picnic just before Christmas in 2022. They drove down to the beach for their picnic and on the way, Lauren accidentally brushed her hand passed something that felt suspiciously like a ring box in Tom’s pocket – the rest of the car ride passed in silence. Finally arriving at their secret spot near the MAAC club where they first met, it was immediately obvious that high tide and a strong wind was going to mean a last minute location change. Relocating to another regular date spot, Lauren became increasingly sure this was the moment, and while rummaging in the picnic bag for drinks, Tom got on one knee! After the initial shock, she of course said yes and they spent a very special Christmas breaking the news to their family and friends!
Why we chose our venue
We chose to have our wedding in the southwest, as it was where we shared our first holiday together and have enjoyed many since. Sur Isle Estate is a special place for us as it has friendship connections and seemed a perfect place to celebrate our wedding surrounded by our nearest and dearest.
Our style
White with a POP of colour. We wanted to keep the aesthetics of the beautiful venue in it’s simplest form and utilise all it’s spaces. White everything with BRIGHT, BRIGHT, BRIGHT florals.
Fragrance
Si by Giorgio Armani, a special gift from my lovely Mother in Law.
Best Moments
I think the biggest highlight was see the wedding come to life in 4 months, we couldn’t have done it without our amazing vendors getting on board so quickly and to our amazing wedding co-ordinator Anneliese Hvalgaard. Our fairytale forest reception dinner was beyond magical and the rain stopped just before our guests walked out. Sharing our special day with our nearest and dearest friends and family was also beautiful, there was just so much love and happiness in the air for Tom and I.
