The Proposal
On our 8 year anniversary of dating, Matt took me to Cottesloe Beach for fish and chips. We took a short walk on the jetty, where we sat on the rocks to watch the sunset. He pulled out a ring from his Woolworths green bag 😂 and asked me to be with him forever. As we walked back, our families ran out from behind the trees and with champagne where’d they’d been hiding and watching the whole thing. It was perfect.
Why we chose our venue
Matt wanted to get married in the South West, it was his one request and I was more than happy with that – the South West is beautiful. We spent a few days looking at venues, but nothing felt right until we visited Tiller Farm. It took our breath away.
Our style
We are both vibrant people – we wear colour, live in colour, and our personalities and lifestyles reflect that. It’s also how our loved ones see us. So, having a wedding that embodied that energy was an easy choice. We asked everyone to dress in “funky formal” because we wanted our guests to feel like an integral part of what makes us happy. We’re not big on formalities, and after 10 years together, we’ve already felt married for a long time. This day was simply about throwing an epic party – a celebration of love, then, now, and forever. The colourful energy and incredible vibe were intoxicating and it was unforgettable – people still talk about it.
Highlights of the day
Walking down the aisle with my dad, and having everyone clap and cheer was an incredible moment – every bride should be cheered down the aisle! It filled me with so much joy and instantly eased any nerves, making the vows feel even more special because we were fully present in the moment. But beyond that, being surrounded by love, seeing our families come together, and having my family travel from the UK made it all even more meaningful.
Advice
Don’t stress over every little detail – focus on creating a day that truly reflects who you are, not just what you think others will enjoy. In the end, the heart of the wedding is the love and joy shared between the bride and groom. When you’re completely present, soaking in every moment, and having the time of your life, that energy radiates. Your guests will feel it, embrace it, and celebrate right alongside you. That’s what makes a wedding unforgettable.
