The Proposal
Sherman proposed on our 5-year anniversary. Months earlier, I had accidentally found the ring hidden in our linen closet, but I kept it to myself! I had a feeling the proposal would happen that day when he put on a button-up shirt in the morning before heading to a bakery. On the drive there, I played a song called “Yes I Do,” but he didn’t seem to react—haha! Once we arrived at the bakery, we enjoyed a little picnic at a nearby park that we used to visit often. Shortly after, he proposed, and we celebrated with wine and cheese in the afternoon at home, followed by dinner at one of our favorite spots.
Why we chose our venue
Sherman and I met down south on a road trip many years ago, so that place has always felt special to us. It’s where we’ve shared so many memories together, so when we started looking at options, we immediately fell in love with Tiller Farm in Yallingup.
Our wedding theme
We got married in May, when the weather starts to cool down. Keeping the cooler temperatures in mind, we wanted our day to feel warm and intimate. Tiller Farm, with its beautiful venue and lovely farmhouse charm, was the perfect backdrop. To complement the space, we incorporated details like florals in autumnal colors and soft, low lighting.
Highlights of the day
The entire day was a highlight for us, but there was one moment that really stood out. At the start of the dining experience, there was a collective round of applause in the room as the barn doors opened to reveal the plated dishes. It was such a special and memorable moment.
