The Proposal
Tim pulled off the most incredible surprise proposal during a romantic getaway to New Zealand. He got down on one knee at the iconic Wanaka Tree, one of the dreamiest spots imaginable. The magic didn’t stop there—we spent the rest of the day enjoying a romantic picnic and soaking in the serene beauty of Wishbone Falls. The whole experience was surreal, emotional, and filled with the kind of vibes you wish you could bottle forever.
Why we chose our venue
We chose Linga Longa because we’ve always had a deep love for that part of Western Australia. Pemberton is one of our favourite weekend escapes—a place where we always feel grounded, relaxed, and connected to nature. It was important to us that our friends and family could experience the same sense of peace and beauty that this special place brings us. We were lucky enough to say our vows beneath the most stunning forest canopy and celebrate the night away under a sky full of stars, completely untouched by city lights.
Our style
We’re both super relaxed and go-with-the-flow kind of people, and we wanted our wedding to reflect that energy. More than anything, we just wanted everyone to be able to unwind, soak up the good vibes, and truly enjoy the weekend. Our hope was for it to feel like a mini holiday for our friends and family—a chance to escape, connect, and celebrate love in a beautiful, peaceful setting.
Fragrance
Sì by Giorgio Armani – my mom picked it for me, and it became my signature scent that everyone knows me by. Stronger With You by Armani – I gifted this to Tim on that special day, and it’s now become his signature scent.
Best Moments
One of the biggest highlights of the day was getting married in our favourite part of the country, surrounded by the people we love—especially those who travelled from overseas to be with us. Having the entire venue to ourselves for the whole weekend made it even more special. It wasn’t just a wedding; it felt like a romantic getaway for everyone. So many of our guests told us it was the best and most romantic holiday they’d had as a couple in years. We loved that everyone could truly relax and make the weekend their own—whether that meant swimming in the sunshine, going for a bike ride, hiking through the forest, or just soaking in the serenity.
Advice for Future Couples
Don’t be afraid of a bit of DIY— we created all of our decor, signage, and stationery ourselves, and it turned out beautifully at a fraction of the cost. It also allowed us to allocate more of our budget to other meaningful parts of the day.
