The Proposal
Louis planned a romantic getaway to one of our favourite destinations – Pullman Bunker Bay. Before a special dinner we had planned, he suggested a walk along the beach, bringing along a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and two champagne glasses. It was a thoughtful gesture, but not exactly subtle – I had a feeling something special was coming.
In true Louis style, he kept me in suspense just a little longer. Instead of proposing right away, he led us on a 500-metre walk in the 35-degree heat to a quiet, private stretch of beach. And finally, after 12 wonderful years together, he asked me to marry him.
Why we chose our venue
Getting married somewhere in the South West of WA was always a given for us, and we approached our venue search with open minds and high hopes. After a long day of exploring the region and not quite finding “the one,” we decided to stop into OBF – completely on a whim, as it wasn’t even on our list.
The moment we walked in, we felt an instant connection and an overwhelming sense of calm. The beauty of the venue spoke for itself, and everything just felt right. It was effortless, stunning… and absolutely perfect.
Our style
Our styling brief was simple: classic, elegant, and timeless. More than anything, we wanted the day to feel relaxed, joyful, and full of love – a celebration that truly reflected us.
Highlights of the day
Looking back, it’s hard to pinpoint just one highlight, we truly loved every single moment of our wedding day. It was incredibly rewarding to see all the planning come to life so beautifully.
The ceremony, in particular, stands out in our memories. Every minute felt dreamlike – there was a sense of love and calm that we had never experienced before. In that moment, everything just felt right.
But above all, the most meaningful part was sharing the day – and all those unforgettable moments – with our closest family and friends. That’s what made it truly magical.
Fragrance
My fragrance of choice was Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540—a scent I fell in love with the moment I first tried it back in 2018. I always knew it would be the one for my wedding day.
Advice for Future Couples
Enjoy every moment of the planning process, and try not to get too caught up in trends, tiny details, traditions, or the expectations of others. Stay true to what you love and what feels right for you as a couple because at the end of the day, it’s your wedding, your story, and your moment to celebrate in your own way.
