The Proposal
A full circle moment, ten years after we first accidentally bumped heads on that very beach, Ben got down on one knee at sunset on the same stretch of sand the day before I turned 30. He had been quietly carrying the ring for almost a year, waiting for just the right moment. We were sitting together setting goals for the new year when he excused himself to grab his jumper from the car and came back ready to ask me the biggest question of all.
Why we chose our venue
The quality and creativity of the food truly stood out. Growing the produce onsite felt like a beautiful homage to my grandad’s veggie patch and to being raised in a family that loved to grow and share good food. We also loved how sustainable the farm is and how conscious they are of their environmental impact. The entertainment aspect was another big selling point—our guests absolutely loved meeting George and hearing the stories behind what they were eating.
Our Style
Rustic romance brought to life with twinkling lights, an abundance of candles, and beautiful native florals. Guests enjoyed drinks at golden hour overlooking the paddock, followed by dancing under the stars on an open-air dance floor.
Best Moments
We truly loved everything about our day. Every one of our vendors was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. One of the most special moments was having our black Labrador, Malcolm, by our side during the ceremony. It was such a meaningful touch, beautifully captured by our photographer, Taj Kempe.
Advice for Future Couples
Enjoy the process, keep a spreadsheet, and make time for regular date nights to check in with each other and align on your vision for the day.
Fragrance
I chose Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom because it reminded me of the scent of jasmine and honeysuckle from my late grandfather’s garden.
