The Proposal
Ryan took the kids and me to the coast for breakfast on a rainy July morning. Afterward, he wanted to show them where we had our first kiss—on Sunset Hill in Scarborough. I was a bit grumpy about getting the kids out in the rain, completely unaware of what was coming. To my surprise, Ryan dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him! It’s now one of our favourite memories.
Why we chose our venue
It reminded Ryan of the UK. One day while we were on our way to visit his dad, we took a wrong turn and stumbled across Old Broadwater Farm. It was absolutely stunning, like something out of a storybook. When we found out they had our anniversary date available, we knew it was meant to be.
Our Style
Our wedding style was timeless and elegant, with a focus on simplicity. We chose a classic palette of whites, creating a clean and romantic atmosphere that felt effortlessly beautiful.
Best Moments
Our vows were a highlight, along with having our children be such an important part of the ceremony. One of the most special moments was my son walking me down the aisle.
Advice for Future Couples
Talk openly about what is important to each of you and find ways to weave those things into your day. And most importantly, try to relax because everything will fall into place. Make sure you also set a realistic budget for your venue and the overall style you are aiming for so you can plan with confidence and avoid unnecessary stress.
