The Proposal

While holidaying in their favourite northern spot, Horrocks, Jarron had been out diving while Lauren spent the afternoon with their dog Coco by the beach. As the sun started to set, Lauren called out for Jarron to hurry, not realising he was rushing to get changed, hide the ring and bring over a bottle of bubbles.

When he finally made it across and she went to pour a drink, he stopped her and got down on one knee, with the ocean sunset behind him. “It was the most magical setting,” she says. “Although I can’t remember a single word he said, it was all a blur!”

Why we chose our venue

Lauren and Jarron wanted a venue that felt new to them, but also somewhere they could spend more than just the wedding day with their favourite people.

“We wanted everyone to stay with us and really make a weekend of it,” she says.

As soon as they arrived at Losari Retreat, it felt like the right fit.

Style

Their vision was coastal chic, with a relaxed, neutral feel inspired by their love of the ocean. The styling was kept simple to let the natural surroundings do the work, especially the gardens at Losari Retreat.

“It was important to keep that coastal feel but not overdo it,” Lauren says.

Best Moments

Seeing each other before the ceremony for their first look was a standout, giving them a quiet moment together before the day unfolded.

They also included a ring warming and sound bowl led by a close friend, which helped everyone settle in and feel present. “So many of our guests mentioned how much they loved that moment,” she says.

Advice

“Delegate where you can in the lead up. The final weeks can feel like a lot,” she says.

“If you can, invest in a planner or coordinator. It makes such a difference on the day.”

Having Sami from The White Owl Collective there as both coordinator and unofficial bridesmaid meant Lauren – a wedding planner herself –  could step back and enjoy it all. “She was a lifesaver. I could fully switch off and just be the bride.”
